- While we have replaced the glass panels of a Solarium Room broken due to rocks being thrown by a lawn mower or a neighborhood child's B-B Gun, we have never had to replace Solarium Room glass broken by hail. Of course, hail large enough to damage a roof can damage the glass of a Solarium, but insurance will cover such an incident of storm damage.
- How do I get an estimate of the cost on my Solarium project?
- Please bring in a photograph of the area of your home where you want the Solarium Room installed. Come prepared with an approximate idea of how tall, how long, and how wide you will want your Solarium Room to be. Call before you come in and make an appointment with Steven Lee, our Solarium planner. At this point, we will be able to give you a rough estimate. Once you decide to proceed with the project, then we can set up an appointment for an on-site visit, draw up the plans, and give an exact estimate for the project.
- How can I have privacy in an all glass room?
- Solarium Rooms are available with a variety of shading systems and tinted glass options that make full privacy possible. Please visit the showroom to see all of the possibilities.
- I have heard that Solarium Rooms are hot in the summer and cold in the winter?
- Properly equipped Solarium Rooms are not hot in the summer nor are they cold in the winter. Temperature can be easily controlled with proper design and high performance glass. Alcoe has a specially designed GE heating and cooling system for every Solarium Room. It is inexpensive to install, economical to operate, and provides for a comfortable temperature inside the Solarium throughout all seasons of the year. With the high performance glass, it is possible to allow the natural sunlight of outdoors to enter your Solarium Room while filtering out the infrared rays which cause heat. Glass can also be designed to provide privacy for the Solarium owner. Shades may also be required to help maintain a comfortable environment!
